2009: MAY 17 TO MAY 30 - GOD IS LIGHT... GOD IS LOVE...

The God of this universe is a Spirit. As His creation, we were made in His image. Yet, because there is a spiritual battle going on, between the forces of LIGHT and the forces of DARKNESS, at some point each person wanders away from the LIGHT. Some people are turned off when they hear the word SIN, yet it is that word that means we've wandered away from our CREATOR... from the LIGHT of His presence.

The Bible says in 1 John 1:5-10 that,
.

"God is light,

and in Him there is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him

and yet walk in the darkness,

we lie and do not practice the truth;

but if we walk in the light

as He Himself is in the light,

we have fellowship with one another,

and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin,

we are deceiving ourselves,

and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins,

He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned,

we make Him a liar,

and His word is not in us."

The Bible also says that "God is LOVE!" He loves us enough to help us get back to living in the LIGHT - if we are willing. Sometimes He must use tough love, although His ways are kind and full of mercy!

• The second one is to the music GO LIGHT YOUR WORLD. Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5, begins with Jesus describing THE BLESSED LIFE and it's rewards. Then, right afterwards Jesus says that people who lead this kind of life are both "salt" and "light" to a tasteless and dark world (my paraphrase). Friend, when we let Him live through us, we can lovingly light our world and know that GIGATTAATTGIG!!!!
