2009: APRIL 26 TO MAY 2 - YOU ARE THE EVERLASTING GOD

We know that Life is Hard, but God is Good, so we say, GIGATTAATTGIG!.
.
After you read this post and watch the video, join us with a comment about a time when you saw the goodness of our EVERLASTING GOD during a really hard time. We'll have a drawing on May 2 with the names of those of you who leave comments and the winner will get a framed print done in beautiful calligraphy by artist Cindy Grubb. This is what is taped above my computer screen as reminder:
.

Do you not know?

Have you not heard?

The Everlasting God,

the LORD,

the Creator of the ends of the earth

Does not become weary or tired.

His understanding is inscrutable.

He gives strength to the weary,

And to him who lacks might

He increases power.

Though youths grow weary and tired,

And vigorous young men stumble badly,

Yet those who wait for the LORD

Will gain new strength;

They will mount up with wings like eagles,

They will run and not get tired,

They will walk and not become weary.

Isaiah 40:28-31

2009: APRIL 19 TO APRIL 25 - GOD THE CREATOR AND GOD THE SCIENTIST EXIST AS THE ONE GOD

GIGATTAATTGIG...We are so grateful!

LET THE UNIVERSE PROCLAIM

THE LIGHT OF HIS GLORY!

  • God first created LIGHT: Genesis 1:2-5 says, "Then God said, "Let there be LIGHT"; and there was LIGHT. 4 And God saw that the LIGHT was good; and God separated the LIGHT from the darkness. 5 And God called the LIGHT day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day."

.

  • Then, God created the two great LIGHTS and the stars: Genesis 1:14-19 says, "Then God said, "Let there be LIGHTS in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for LIGHTS in the expanse of the heavens to give LIGHT on the earth ";and it was so. 16 And God made the two great LIGHTS, the greater LIGHT to govern the day, and the lesser LIGHT to govern the night; He made the stars also. 17 And God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give LIGHT on the earth, 18 and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the LIGHT from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day."

.

  • Jesus, came to the world to be the LIGHT: John 8:12-13
12 Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the LIGHT of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the LIGHT of life."

.

  • Jesus called His disciples The LIGHT of the World: Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the LIGHT of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 "Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the peck-measure, but on the lampstand; and it gives LIGHT to all who are in the house. 16 "Let your LIGHT shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. "

Astronomers have selected the top ten

most amazing pictures

taken by the Hubble Space Telescope

in the last 16 years.
.

"... they illustrate that our universe

is not only deeply strange,
but also almost
impossibly beautiful."

Michael Hanlon, Daily Mail

.
After correcting an initial problem with the lens, when the Hubble Space Telescope was first launched in 1990, the floating astro-observatory began to relay back to Earth, incredible snapshots of the "final frontier" it was perusing.
.

.

1.

.

The Sombrero Galaxy

(28 million light years from Earth)

was voted best picture taken by

the Hubble telescope.

The dimensions of the galaxy,

officially called M104,

are as spectacular as its appearance.

It has 800 billion suns
and is 50,000 LIGHT years across.

.

.

.

2.

The Ant Nebula,

a cloud of dust and gas whose name is Mz3,

resembles an ant when observed

using ground- based telescopes.

The nebula lies within our galaxy

between 3,000 and 6,000

LIGHT years from Earth.

.

.

3.

.

In third place is "Eskimo"

or Nebula NGC 2392.

It's face is surrounded by a furry hood.
The hood is, in fact, a ring of comet-shaped objects
flying away from a dying star.

Eskimo is 5,000 LIGHT years from Earth.

.

.4.

At four is the Cat's Eye Nebula.

.

.

5.

The Hourglass Nebula,

8,000 LIGHT years away, has a
pinched-in-the-middle look because the winds that
shape it are weaker at the centre.

.

.

6.

In sixth place is the Cone Nebula.

The part pictured here is 2.5 LIGHT years in length

(the equivalent of 23 million return trips to the Moon).

.

.

7.

The Perfect Storm,

a small region in the Swan Nebula,
5,500 LIGHT years away,

described as "a bubbly ocean
of hydrogen and small amounts of oxygen,

sulphur and other elements."

.

.

8.

Starry Night,

so named because it reminded astronomers
of the Van Gogh painting.

It is a halo of LIGHT around a
star in the Milky Way.

.

.

9.

The glowering eyes from 114 million LIGHT

years away are the swirling cores of

two merging galaxies called
NGC 2207 and IC 2163

in the distant Canis Major constellation.

.

.

10.

The Trifid Nebula,

a 'stellar nursery',

9,000 LIGHT years
from here, where new stars are being born.

If you are convicted by the pictures of creation that you have seen here OR maybe you are new to this concept of believing that a loving, living CREATOR exists as your HEAVENLY FATHER please access the website DOES GOD EXIST? The site is authored by a friend of mine who is a former atheist. John Clayton became a christian years ago in the same church where my husband and I have previously ministered . John has spent his christian life as a scientist showing how GOD is THE SCIENTIST AND THE CREATOR of the universe, and how the BIBLE told many things about science years before science ever figured them out. Please check it out here at DOES GOD EXIST?

2009: APRIL 12 TO APRIL 18 - FRIDAY'S HERE! SUNDAY'S COMING! NEW LIFE!

.

On Thursday,
it hit me that I didn't have to walk very far
out my front door to realize God's creation was shouting...

NEW LIFE!

Just a few weeks previous,
most plants in our yard appeared dead.

.

Seeds and bulbs die

in order for plants and trees to live!

It's one of the many lessons

our good God gives us in nature:

SOMETHING DIES

FOR SOMETHING ELSE TO LIVE!

.

.
As I walked around my yard and took pictures,
I marveled at the different colors in the sky!
As the sun was going down,
I thought of our daughter-in-love
who was in labor
with our first grandchild in another state.
Another lesson from our good God:
NEW BIRTH COMES ABOUT
THROUGH SACRIFICE AND PAIN!

.
.
At 7:58 p.m. eastern time,
little Chloe was born!
Her birth had been a labor of love!

.

The evening sun had set in the western sky,

but because our good God is consistent,

we could expect the sun to rise

in the east on Friday morning.

This wouldn't be just any Friday morning.

It would be GOOD FRIDAY!

Good?

A day that celebrates

the horrible crucifixion

of the Son of God?

Good?

YES!

.

JESUS willingly and lovingly gave His life!

He knew the secret to new life!

.

1. SOMETHING DIES

FOR SOMETHING ELSE TO LIVE!

.

2. NEW BIRTH COMES ABOUT

THROUGH SACRIFICE AND PAIN!

.

On Friday, I meditated on the cross and what Jesus chose to do for me! I remembered the nine months, labor, and delivery that Jacqueline had gone through to give birth to Chloe. I was thankful for the phone calls, the emails, the facebook status that said, "She's here!"

.

I kept thinking and saying,

"Friday's here!

Sunday's coming!"

.

The apostles had been taught the concept of death, burial, and resurrection. Yet, it was hard when going through it. This video / song have been written as if from the perspective of Peter on that Sunday morning... Be blessed by the song and the video!
.

He's Alive!
by Don Francisco

.
The gates and doors were barred And all the windows fastened down
I spent the night in sleeplessness And rose at every sound
Half in hopeless sorrowAnd half in fear the day
Would find the soldiers breakin' through To drag us all away
.
And just before the sunriseI heard something at the wall
The gate began to rattle And a voice began to call
I hurried to the window Looked down into the street
Expecting swords and torches And the sound of soldiers' feet
.
But there was no one there but Mary So I went down to let her in
John stood there beside me As she told me where she'd been
She said they might have moved Him in the night And none of us knows where
The stone's been rolled away And now His body isn't there
.
We both ran toward the garden Then John ran on ahead
We found the stone and empty tomb Just the way that Mary said
But the winding sheet they wrapped Him in Was just an empty shell
And how or where they'd taken Him Was more than I could tell
.
Oh something strange had happened there Just what I did not know
John believed a miracle But I just turned to go
Circumstance and speculation Couldn't lift me very high
'Cause I'd seen them crucify Him Then I saw Him die
.
Back inside the house again The guilt and anguish came
Everything I'd promised Him Just added to my shame
When at last it came to choices I denied I knew His name
And even if He was alive It wouldn't be the same
.
But suddenly the air was filled With a strange and sweet perfume
Light that came from everywhere Drove the shadows from the room
And Jesus stood before me With his arms held open wide
And I fell down on my knees And I just clung to Him and cried
.
Then He raised me to my feet And as I looked into His eyes
The love was shining out from Him Like sunlight from the skies
Guilt in my confusion Dissappeared in sweet release
And every fear I'd ever had Just melted into peace
.
He's alive!
Yes! He's alive!
Yes! He's alive!
And I'm forgiven!
Heaven's gates are open wide!
He's alive!
Yes! He's alive!
Oh! He's alive!
And I'm forgiven!
Heaven's gates are open wide!
He's alive!
yes He's alive!
Hallelujah! He's alive!
He's alive!
And I'm forgiven!
Heaven's gates are open wide!
He's alive!
He's alive!
He's alive!
I believe it!
He's alive!
Sweet Jesus!

2009: APRIL 5 TO APRIL 11 - GOD IS LOVE... YET, IT'S ABOUT THE CROSS

GIGATTAATTGIG:
IT'S ABOUT THE CROSS!
.
The entire story of God is tied up in the phrase:
.
"God is love!"
The ultimate love is to give one's life. When a person understands that Jesus was God and Jesus made a decision to give His life for us... then, we begin to understand the gospel story. Many in the world have heard "The Christmas Story". Others have heard the story of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus that is referred to by many as "The Easter Story". I submit to you a combination of these two stories via the video below. It may give you a fresh look at why God Is Good All The Time And All The Time God Is Good.
